Page 8 (THREE PANELS)
Panel 1
Noah turns around to Sam while standing at the door of the cabin.
NOAH: Door’s locked. I’m gonna kick it in, buddy. You just stay, okay? Stay.
Panel 2
From inside the cabin we see Noah kick the door in. We’re behind a limp body which sits in a chair, in the foreground and left of the panel. To the right and in the background, Noah stands in shock, the door wide open.
Panel 3
We see over Noah’s shoulder now, revealing the whole scene. A man’s body slumped over in a chair in the center of the cabin. The body itself isn’t quite rotten yet, but the skin leathery and sunken and greyish green, with maggots and flies surrounding it. The top of the body’s head is missing, having been blown off through a self-inflicted shotgun blast. The body’s hand holds the shotgun which is now resting against the floor. There’s hardly any furniture, except for a table and chairs and some shelving. The place messy, like it had been lived in by a scavenger. The real horror of the scene is the message written on the wall behind the body. Painted in red on the wood planks of the cabin interior are the words “WAR NOT OVER”, then in smaller but equally as bold, the words “JUST MORE ROOM” underneath.
