Pages and Panels #13: Ryan Ferrier and D4VE #2

d4vecomic:

Kyle and Nikki of PAGES AND PANELS had Ryan on the podcast to talk about D4VE. On the show, we go through D4VE #2 page by page, and talk about process, the amazing work of Valentin Ramon, and also bathroom habits and superior movie sequels.

It was a real good time, so give it a listen.

felipe-cunha:

So it’s been a while since I last posted anything here.

Thing is, I’ve been busy, and the best kind of busy because I’m filling every work day with things I love doing, also been working a lot of weekends not because I needed, but because I wanted to. Really hoping this is here to stay.

I’m currently attached to a few awesome projects on various stages of production, I’m doing my best with organizing them and so far it’s working out great.

One of those is this crazy awesome new comic with writer Ryan Ferrier from which I put together a little collection of panels above, they’re not sequential so it doesn’t give too much away, there’s WAY more that we’ll be sharing once it goes further into development.

I’m lucky enough to be working with some really great writers as of late and I’ll be sharing whatever I can from those too as I go.

Oh! Also, new blog look, I grew tired of the old one and figured it was time for a little makeover, the header image is from something super cool I’ll be showing in a few weeks. ;-)

If you’re not following Felipe, you really oughta should. He’s a tremendous artist and an absolute blast to work with. Above you’ll see some sneak peeks at a book he and I have been working on. Great stuff!

Best series in a looong time!

d4vecomic:

Hi Ryan and Valentin! I am a huge fan and sad to see the series done. I am a 3D modeler and printer and just HAD to make this tribute figure of good ‘ol D4VE!  It turned out so good (thanks to the amazing art I used as reference!) I will be using it as a portfolio piece to show clients. I loaded a multipage PDF of my portfolio on the removable USB/head!3D print

Grant Miller: A Genius

d4vecomic:

So Tumblr’s being weird and wouldn’t let me reply or comment on our last post, but HOLY DEAR LORD IN HEAVEN DID YOU ALL SEE THAT?! A 3D D4VE?! IT’S REAL?!

Huge, huge, huge thanks to Mr. Grant Miller—a genius, a sculptor, a wizard, a true artisan—for doing that and showing us all just how freaking amazingly cool and talented he is.

Grant, thank you. WOW!

"Reader response to THE FUSE has been amazing, especially to our unique grumpy old female detective, Klem,” said Johnston. “Now in ‘Gridlock’ we’re turning up the sci-fi, and delving deep into the seedy underbelly of this run-down space station. Justin is doing the best work of his career, and I can’t wait for readers to see it.”

— Image Comics announces THE FUSE #7, starting a new story arc 'Gridlock', and reveals our awesome variant cover by the amazing Jenny Frison (Revival, Red Sonja).

It’s on sale November 5. Pre-order codes:

REGULAR COVER: SEP140719

VARIANT COVER: SEP140720

Look at this! I’m super excited to be lettering this here great book as of issue #7. Big thanks to Antony and Justin for having me.

You gotta get on THE FUSE, it’s damn great comics.
